A 4 wheel walker is also referred to as a rollator or walker with a seat. They fall under the term "mobility aid" meaning they provide support for seniors/elderly who have difficulty with balance, strength or endurance while they are walking.

The basic design includes 4 wheels, brakes (much like a bicycle), can be folded up to put in the trunk of a car, have a seat and a bag (or basket) to carry items in.
If the senior has issues with balance, strength or endurance. People usually start using them after they have had a fall but I encourage elderly people to use them BEFORE the fall to PREVENT falls. The last thing an older adult wants is a hip fracture!
Height of handles - the handles should be level with the crease of the users wrist when their hands are at their side. They all have adjustable handle heights.
Big Wheels - 8" or taller as they tend to roll easier over uneven ground.
Size - Generally, the bigger the person, the bigger the walker. However, make sure it can be used inside (ie. fit through the users hallways and doorways).
They can cost between $80 to $400. It's like buying a car. The more expensive models are higher quality and will last longer. Compare a less expensive model to a more expensive model and you will notice that they roll differently, the grips may be more (or less) comfortable, etc.
They can be purchased at a medical supply store, department store and even some pharmacies.
