Elastic Laces

Elastic laces are simple items but can make your aging parent independent. Many seniors have difficulty getting their shoes on and off. Many do not like the look of shoes with velcro (instead of laces). However, some cannot bend down to tie lace up shoes because of their lack of flexibility or their balance.

What do they do?

Simple. Elastic shoe laces allow seniors to slip their regular lace up shoes on. It may seem like not a big deal, but for some seniors it gives them their independence back and allows them to confidently go out in public. I have personally had men tell me they felt "old" wearing shoes with velcro and did not like going out in public with them on.

Who are they designed for?

They are designed for seniors with difficulty putting their shoes on and taking them off. They put them in their regular lace up shoes. It can mean the difference between dependence and independence.
