Appropriate Choices

My pop has dementia (78), and is insistent upon selling his home to move closer to mine.

The problem is he wants to buy another home instead of downsizing.

He and my mom are both too physically old to start over anew, yet neither feels they are ready for assisted living.

Being demented, I'm not sure how to convince him that a senior community or even a rental might be a better choice at this time in their lives.

Pop gets very angry when he doesn't get his way, and I worry about my mom who is becoming more withdrawn in order to keep the peace with my pop.

Should I override his wishes and make a plan for a new living situation or allow his wishes to rule?
